Folding, cutting, naming, preparing the sheets and the book, sewing with twine, gluing … you will even prepare the glue, to create a precious book that you can keep and show to friends!
Program
Lesson 1 – Presentation of the course, history of the book and nomenclature, types of bindings, styles of stitching, disassembly of the book, restoration of signatures, preparation of the guard sheets, preparation for sewing.
Lesson 2 – Folding of the sheets, sewing on tape, wrapping, capital, capital application.
Lesson 3 – Cutting the blanket boxes, blind points, corners, ribs, construction of the detached deck, recessed.
Lesson 4 – Folding of the sheets, preparation of the book for twine stitching, back gluing, capital on twine paper, wrapping, preparation of the blanket.
Lesson 5 – Preparation of the vegetable glue, covering the half canvas, covering the full canvas, tie rods and recessed, finishing, tag.
Each student will take the book with them.
