Enter directly into the world of work with an Internship in Florence, Italy, available in various work sectors, in very professional companies, in and around teh city.

You’ll live a unique work experience and improve your knowledge of Italian, ideal for getting to understand local life from the inside, and to be part of the most active area of Italian society.

The internship, for which you do not receive payment, provides for around 4-6 hours of work-experience per day, depending on the category of work. During the period of this internship, work-hours permitting, you can also participate in the cultural activities and seminars offered by the school. You’ll be monitored and helped by our staff during the whole period of the internship.

  • Museums and Art institutions ( Art Centers in Florence, galleries, exhibitions )
  • Import and Export companies ( Wine and general foods – Buying office )
  • Fashion and Textile industries ( Fashion Design, clothes production, Fashion photography – Buying office )
  • Arts and Crafts factories ( Leather, ceramics, pottery, jewelry, restoration of wood, paper and paintings )
  • Computer companies ( Web marketing and web design )
  • Professional Studios ( Architects, Engineers, Lawyers )
  • Welfare and Social Services.

Start Date

The Internship program can start at any time of the year. The date and location of the Italian courses can be agreed according to your needs. The preliminary Italian course lasts a minimum of 4 weeks.

Requirements

  • Preparatory Italian language course of a minimum of 4 weeks
  • Italian language skills of at least Intermediate level, or depending on the type of internship.
  • Minimum age 18 years old
  • Minimum length of internship 4 weeks, maximum 6 months

Enrollment

The following documents should be forwarded at least 2 months prior to the start of the program:

  • Curriculum Vitae.
  • Letter of Application, which should include a description of your level/knowledge of Italian, professional experience, academic qualifications, and your expectations regarding the internship.
  • Application form and accommodation request.

Insurance

During the period of the internship, an agreement will be made between both parties and the intern will be covered by liability and employment insurance.

Certification and Visas

At the end of the internship you’ll be issued with a Certificate confirming your knowledge of Italian, along with a description of the work-experience completed. Centro Italiano participates in the programs of the Erasmus Plus project.

As the internship is considered part of a language program, and is unpaid, no work-permit is necessary. However, for students coming from outside the European Union, a Study Visa is required to be able to stay and study in Italy. This visa will be valid for the entire length of the program.     The cost of the Italian language course should be added to that of the internship:

    Italian course, 4 weeks, 80 hours per month, 730 euros.

    Price includes

    Group Italian language course, 4 hours per day, from Monday to Friday, for a duration of 4 weeks, 80 hours of lessons. Internship in a company, for a total of 80-110 hours per month, monitored by a special internal tutor, temporary contract, work-place insurance.
