Learn about restoration and gilding with highly professional artisans in an ancient Florentine workshop, located right in the heart of Florence, near Ponte Vecchio.
In this course you will learn the basics of how gilding is done, and how to restore gilded works of art. You will be introduced to the materials used and decorative techniques based on the object’s historical placement.
You will also learn about gouache gilding and mission gilding, as well as restoration techniques for gilded and lacquered wooden works. At the end of the course, you will put your knowledge into practice by gilding an object provided free of charge by the school, as a memento to take home.
