With the bookbinding basic course you will be able to learn the history and practice of this discipline with the help of our expert craftsmen; from folding to finishing, you will immerse yourself in an ancient and suggestive art.<\/p>\n

Explore the ancient and evocative world of bookbinding; an elegant and precious art that only a few expert craftsmen practice and pass on.<\/p>\n

Folding, cutting, naming, preparing the sheets and the book, sewing with twine, gluing … you will even prepare the glue, to create a precious book that you can keep and show to friends!<\/p>\n

<\/a>Program<\/h2>\n

Lesson 1 – Presentation of the course, history of the book and nomenclature, types of bindings, styles of stitching, disassembly of the book, restoration of signatures, preparation of the guard sheets, preparation for sewing.<\/p>\n

Lesson 2 – Folding of the sheets, sewing on tape, wrapping, capital, capital application.<\/p>\n

Lesson 3 – Cutting the blanket boxes, blind points, corners, ribs, construction of the detached deck, recessed.<\/p>\n

Lesson 4 – Folding of the sheets, preparation of the book for twine stitching, back gluing, capital on twine paper, wrapping, preparation of the blanket.<\/p>\n

Lesson 5 – Preparation of the vegetable glue, covering the half canvas, covering the full canvas, tie rods and recessed, finishing, tag.<\/p>\n
