IdeaThe course is based on the “ Libro dell’Arte” of Cennino Cennini and introduces to the students the painting techniques practiced between 1300 and 1500 by the copying of paintings in order of learning how to use the egg tempera, gold leaf, up to an including oil colours. The entire process for the realization of complete paintings will be put into practice, from the preparation of the supports to the final glazing. This course can be combined with an Italian language course in the morning find details here. Program details: ■ Preparation of gesso ■ Preparation of canvas for egg tempera ■ Preparation of canvas for oil painting ■ Creation of a drawing ■ Copy of the drawing in wood and canvas with powder technique ■ Preparation for gold leaf application ■ Gilding techniques ■ Preparation of egg tempera ■ Preparation of oil color ■ Recreation of classic painting with egg tempera ■ Recreation of classic painting with oil colours ■ Final varnishing of paintings Accommodations in the program will be made for students with varying degrees of experience.
